This is an in-office position in Aliso Viejo, CA — NO RELOCATION — NO TELECOMMUTING

The candidate should possess the skills, certifications and/or the hands-on experience necessary for designing, monitoring, and managing large (thousands of endpoints) customer networks (WAN, LAN, WLAN and VPN environments). Must have proven capabilities designing VPN based wide area network solutions including experience with cisco IOS based DMVPN, zone based firewall, BGP, EIGRP, OSPF, IPS/IDS, QoS, and digital certificates from both a design and support perspective. Experience with other platforms and technologies also a plus. Our customer environments have elements consisting of managed switches, routers, firewalls, load balancers, wireless gateways, IP telephony equipment, and concentrators including platforms such as Cisco, Fortinet, Juniper, Foundry/Brocade, Checkpoint and Avaya. The candidate would be responsible for designing, and maintaining/testing customer network infrastructure — providing necessary support to other business and operations teams. Additionally, the network engineer will be responsible for developing and implementing operations management processes and guidelines for:

• Customer support

• Availability and performance monitoring

• System, data, and voice network security

The network engineer should also be able to observe customer specific change control procedures to avoid negatively impacting customer networks, while simultaneously adhering to a customer’s service level agreements (SLAs) with CIS.

The ideal candidate should possess a strong working knowledge of the following concepts, technologies, and platforms:

• Firewalls, access control lists (ACLs), intrusion detection (IDS), and intrusion prevention (IPS)

• Encryption protocols (e.g. IPSec)

• Network security (e.g. hardening customer equipment against attacks)

• Routing and switching (BGP, EIGRP, and OSPF)

• VoIP

• TCP/IP

• Cisco IOS and PIX

• VLANs

• Experience with security compliance such as HIPAA or PCI

• Broad hands-on experience with implementation, configuration and troubleshooting of various networking equipment from various vendors

• Expert technical knowledge of VPN technologies including static/dynamic crypto maps, DMVPN, ACVPN on Juniper, SSL VPN, digital certificates, and other similar technologies

• Expert technical knowledge of firewall design, maintenance, and support — including a strong understanding of zone-based firewalls on Cisco IOS

• Expert technical knowledge and experience with BGP, OSPF, and EIGRP

• Proactive monitoring, tuning, and reporting of the operation and security of customer networks

• Bachelor’s degree in technical field preferred or equivalent experience, certifications, and technical training

• CCNA/CCNP/CCIE certification preferred
